Who doesn’t love discovering new products and companies?
It has to be the feeling of seeing this industry develop and grow and knowing I’m able to play a part…..
With that being said - I’m excited to share with you 5 amazing NEW menswear companies.
All of them caught my attention because of the unique way they are being innovative.
But I want to hear from you.

As a guy who really enjoys his pocket squares so it’s no surprise why I love this company!
Run by my friend Christopher Costas - a Marine Corps veteran – Pocket Square heroes have come up with a cool concept to transform the ubiquitous pocket square.
What sets Pocket Square Heroes apart from other pocket squares out there is the way the design and the colors are configured.
Each pocket square is actually a ribbon that represents colors of a particular facet of the military, police dept, or fire dept.
Wearing one of these pocket squares sends a message that other veterans and service personnel can see and identify.
I personally love the concept because pocket squares for most men are just accessories that look nice.
With this tweak, Chris has managed to bring new use and meaning to an otherwise “meaningless” accessory.

Tie pins were created for a purpose.
To keep neckties neatly aligned – especially when you’re eating or presenting.
The problem with your usual tie pins though is that they put holes in your tie – damaging the silk necktie in the process.
Enter Tie Mags.
They’ve put to rest that old problem by coming up with a double magnet system.
This enables you to easily put on your tie, keep it in place, and look stylish.
Because Tie mags are magnets they won’t damage your ties. Problem solved!
Another attractive feature – these tie mags come in three different shapes and six different designs, thus they can make for an excellent conversation starter.

Upon initial inspection the Zip Seam may look like some weird straw contraption.
What the Zip Seam does is simply amazing.
Here on Real Men Real Style I am always going on about the importance of proper fit.
I consistently encourage men to go to the tailor and get their shirts, suits and trousers altered.
However the fact is that not many gentlemen get around to doing this. Time, money, and life get in the way.
Zip Seam was invented by SiDi Huang and allows you to skip a trip to the tailor because it can be attached to any shirt and semi-permanently hold that shirt in so it instantly looks more fitted.
If you don’t want to go to a tailor investing in a pack of Zip Seams is a quick and easy way to get your shirts to fit you properly.

4. Strongbody Apparel
I used to workout in an old pair of shorts and a ratty cotton shirt.
It’s not that I didn’t care, it’s just that I never bought into the need for performance gear.
That has changed since I started spending more time at the gym and became more conscious of my lifting form, what I eat, and in general the mindset I want when I start to exercise.
In fact I started paying attention to my gym clothing when I read about en-clothed cognition and how our performance can increase when we dress for the occasion.
Really – looking good when you work out can be a great motivator and put you in the right mindset to perform better!
Strongbody Apparel was created by Meghan Conyers and Quincy Samycia - this dynamic duo spent over 2 years researching fabric and design before launching their own brand.
They wanted to make better workout gear and come up with clothing that could be taken from the gym to the street – looking stylish in both arenas.
Their most innovative step – go read their site, but basically they found a way to incorporate shellfish and crabs into the fabric which helps with odor resistance and sustainability.
Now I’ve had the opportunity to compare various pieces from Strongbody Apparel with Under Armour clothing and I can honestly say that their products are built much better – very well stitched with reinforcement in the seams.
The shorts in particular hug the body without feeling tight or constrictive – they flatter your build vs hiding it. A big bonus if you are in shape.
Strongbody Apparel’s price range is premium, but they do have a Kickstarter campaign that allows for lower priced pre-orders.
Go support them if you’re in the market for well-designed, eco-friendly, socially responsible, stylish performance wear.

The final menswear company on my list is Collar Perfect.
Collar Perfect was started by Marine veteran Brandon Dierker who reinvented the travel iron.
Oftentimes when one travels, its those little details on the shirt and trousers – such as the collar, the shirt bottom, the placket, the trouser hem – that get neglected and end up looking worse for wear.
There are also those times that you just need to do a spot iron. Yet you end up having to pull the whole iron & board out.
For these situations Collar Perfect is the perfect solution.
It’s a small transforming iron that gets very hot – in fact much hotter than any travel iron on the market which helps when ironing linen and cotton.
Collar Perfect is also perfect for spot ironing jobs as it gets into those little areas on the shirt because of it’s unique shape and ability to fold up on itself.
Collar Perfect hasn’t gone into production just yet, so if you want to see this invention come to life show your support by visiting their Kickstarter page.
