Duct-Tape-Posture-Fix#1 Duct Tape Your Back To Improve Posture

Sitting or standing up straight is not just good news for your posture, it gives you more confidence in your thinking.

Fix your posture by using duct tape on your back. Stand up straight and run a long piece of duct tape down your back. Every time you slouch during the day, the tape will tug at your skin and remind you to keep your back vertical.

Good posture gives the appearance of confidence.

Researchers at the Ohio State University conducted an experiment on the effect of posture on mood by asking participants to either sit up straight or hunch over in their seat.

Those who were told to sit up straight believed they were more qualified for a job than those who slumped over their desks, despite both groups having the same qualifications.

The results show how your body posture affects how you think about yourself. As an aside, people who stand tall and confident appear more attractive.

superman-pose-confidence#2 SuperMan Power Pose

According to Amy Cuddy, a social psychologist at Harvard Business School, your body language shapes your mood.

The Superman pose (stand tall with your chest lifted, head held high, and place your clenched fists on your hips), is associated with confidence, power, and achievement.

When people are unsure of themselves, they tend to hunch over, cross their arms over their chest and avoid big movements. When they are on top of the world, they sprawl out with their body language.

Adopting a power posture can change your internal state and make you feel more powerful. It also boosts your testosterone (8% increase in Amy Cuddy’s study on power posing) and reduces stress-inducing cortisol levels (25% decrease in the experiment).

Spend two minutes power posing when you feel your confidence levels dipping.

#3 Use The Right Tools To Groom Yourself

Use positive self-talk to lift your spirits. Stand in front of a mirror and affirm yourself audibly.

Words have a powerful effect and repeated positive self-talk boosts your confidence level even in the privacy of your bedroom.

Go the extra mile and style your hair, give yourself a clean shave, and dress nicely. This will make you feel better about yourself and others are more likely to perceive you as successful and self-confident.

Use a micro abrasion tool to gently exfoliate your face.

Use a product like the PMD Man to remove the dead, dull cells on the surface of your skin and stimulate the body’s natural collagen production. The generation of new cells is stimulated by removing the dead skin cell barrier, revealing younger and rejuvenated skin.

Reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, blemishes, and pores by using the PMD Man weekly.

#4 Shock Your System

Famous soccer player, Cristiano Ronaldo, is famous for taking ice baths at the end of a training session to speed up recovery time. Tony Robbins swears by Cryotherapy, which involves exposing the body to ice-cold temperatures and shocking the system.

These highly productive and confident individuals have learned to harness the benefits of shocking the human body using cold temperatures.

Cold shower therapy was used to treat anxiety, depression, to improve blood circulation and skin tone in ancient Ayurvedic medicine. Exposure to the cold is believed to reduce the incidence of colds by strengthening their immune system.

Access this benefit by simply turning your shower tap to cold for three minutes a few times a week.

The shock from the cold water induces a stress response and then your parasympathetic nervous system kicks back into place afterward, relaxing your nervous system.

#5 Get Rid Of Body Odor

You might have convinced yourself that nobody will know about your sweaty armpits on a conference call online.

It doesn’t matter if you are talking to somebody in person or on a skype call, body odor has an effect on your confidence levels.

It can significantly affect how a man feels about himself and behaves, even if no one is close enough to smell him.

In a study of body odor and it effects on self-confidence conducted at Liverpool University, men with body odor had lower confidence and viewed themselves as less attractive.

The women who participated in the study were able to pick up on this decrease in self-confidence and rated the “smelly” men as less attractive, despite watching them on video.

The difference in confidence and attractiveness of the men in the study was communicated through their behavior in the videos and was not based on their appearance.

It’s amazing how much of a difference a shower and a shave can make in your feelings of self-confidence and for your self-image. It has the potential to turn your mood around completely.

#6 Use A Signature Fragrance

The quickest way to boost your confidence is to spray a signature fragrance that works well with your body chemistry.

Aromas can enhance your mood and change your behavior.

Fragrance plays a huge role in how you feel and has the ability to elicit a range or emotions from feeling confident to happy, relaxed and more.

Your olfactory system (your sense of smell) is connected to the limbic system, the part of the brain that is responsible for interpreting emotions and memories. When you spray on a cologne that you connect with positively, it instantly makes you feel confident and puts you in a positive mood.

In choosing a signature scent, trust your gut and find a fragrance you instinctively like. Citrus scents are generally associated with confidence.

#7 Focus On Your Breathing

Professionals who have to carry out their mission under high pressure (astronauts, special ops officers), learn to control the one thing under their control… breathing.

This technique involves your mind – which is powerful in controlling your mood and feelings.

Focus on your breathing and take time out to concentrate on your inner state.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed with a situation or you’re about to step out into a room where you have to start speaking very quickly, and simply…

pause for a moment…

and take five deep breaths.

The intake of a lot of oxygen does several helpful things to your biochemistry.

• It lowers blood pressure.

• It increases alertness.

• It reduces anxiety.

It’s a simple technique to bring your attention back to what’s in your control and to handle a stressful situation to the best of your ability.

#8 Walk With Purpose

When you walk into a room, walk with purpose towards a person or a spot in the room.

Having a focus makes you appear more confident.

Is it your first day at college? Walk right up to the front of the classroom and take the seat under the lecturer’s nose. It shows that you are confident enough to take the least favored seat and it will help you focus on what’s being taught.

man-walking-in-nature#9 Go Out For A Walk

When you are losing control of a situation, step out for a walk.

In nature.

If you are surrounded by concrete, a walk in the urban environment provides some benefits too.

Head outdoors for a brisk thirty-minute walk three times a week.

Walking improves your health. Thirty minutes walking instead of relaxing in front of a TV will help you feel better.

But it has an extra confidence booster in it as well. You’ll strengthen the appropriate muscles and, soon, the way you walk across a room will appear much more confident than before without any conscious effort on your part.

#10 Nudity Builds Confidence?

Getting naked does a lot for making people feel more confident. It’s not just standing in front of a mirror naked but walking around the house in the nude.

Being confident in one’s own skin has a huge effect on self-esteem. If you struggle with your body image, your self-esteem and confidence take a pretty big hit. Of all the bizarre confidence booster, getting naked does a lot to boost your confidence levels!

Just ensure your windows and doors are securely locked and closed.
